Great News for Lenape Valley High School Ice Hockey.

 A resolution has been put forward  by the Lenape Board of Education to go forward with Co-op with Newton High School for a joint Ice Hockey program.  Lenape Valley Patriots Hockey has finally seen one of their goals get closer to becoming reality. Thanks to all the people involved with patriots hockey especially Clair Huber for all their work in getting the High School program to this point.

Lenape Valley Patriots Middle School Team skates to a 4-2 loss in historic game played at skylands arena on December 9, 2007.

History was made on December 9, 2007 at 6:56 PM at Skylands Ice World in Stockholm N.J. when the puck dropped for the first ever Lenape Valley Patriots Hockey game. A team comprised of 5th 6th 7th and 8th grade athletes from Byram Twp. Netcong, and Stanhope took the ice for the first time representing  Lenape Valley Patriots Hockey. Many parents and fans in the crowd were thrilled to finally see the Patriots Players in their Red White and Blue sweaters take to the ice for their first official league game. Every player gave their all on this historic night and it was a hard fought contest, however the Patriots came out on the loosing end of a 4-2 game. Although the soreboard showed a Lenape Valley loss, if you could have seen the smiles, and faces of satisfaction as the players came off the ice, you would have thought they won the game.

Lenape Valley Patriots Hockey is looking to expand their organization to include not only there middle school team but Mite(age 7-8), squirt(age 9-10), peewee(age 11-12) and bantam(age 13-14) teams in the next few seasons. Lenape Valley Patriots Hockey to skate their first team ever in Skyland Ice World Middle School League!!!

After years of talking and months of planning Lenape Valley Patriots Hockey is no longer a vision but a reality.

On October 10,2007 the Lenape Valley Patriots Hockey Inc. was officialy formed as a non-profit corporation with the state of  New Jersey and the Federal Government.                         

Several months ago many of the the parents of hockey players in the Lenape Valley High School sending district met to come up with a plan to bring hockey to our towns and schools. With several meetings being held, and input from other sussex county towns that had the same vision and formed clubs in the last few years, a plan was put into action.

Although the plan with regards to a Lenape Valley High School Team (the organizations main goal) has not yet come to fruition, the club is pleased to be skating a Middle School Team in their inaugural season. Skylands Ice Worlds Middle School League is also in it's inaugural season and both skylands and Lenape Valley Hockey Club hope this partnership will last for years.

The club still has allot of work to do to achieve their lofty goals,  we wish them luck in their inaugural season and with the future of hockey in the Lenape Valley High School sending district.
